The first-ever Thank You Hashem event was a real eye-opener for the organizers. This was when they realized the tremendous effect of the organization and the need to create more awareness on living a life of gratitude. The motto in Yiddish describes the benefits of thanking Hashem, perfectly; A thanks brings a thanks. Each time you thank Hashem, it creates a vessel for you to receive more blessings so that you can continue thanking.
Members of the TYH groups reached out to the organizers that there is a need to facilitate a large event. Prominent singers, musicians, and caterers who were followers of the Thank You Hashem movement offered their services for free. A location was chosen, and an outdoor BBQ was planned. Rabbi Ari Berkowitz, the founder of TYH, expressed his thanks and wonderment to the unexpectedly positive response.
After some stirring speeches by Rabbi Moshe Yona Horwitz and Rabbi Yoel Weberman, the crowd enjoyed the beautiful ambiance of the night. A keynote speech by Rabbi Shloime Ehrlich, founder of Ohr Layesharim, left the audience captivated. It was a successful night, which would be a harbinger for things to come.
