Thank You Hashem – Week 226

  • Walking to my car this morning I see a garbage truck pulled up right beside my car. I just missed getting out in time. I did not get nervous and as I walked to my car I passed my neighbor and said looks like I am stuck for a while. As I approached my car the garbage man was walking right behind my car, I smiled and said How ya doing, he nodded and acknowledged my greeting which is a milestone, he is usually a very grumpy bitter person. He then gets in the truck and does something I never saw in my life. He puts the truck in reverse and backs up allowing me the space to pull out my car and be on my way. The power of a simple nice greeting to someone. Thank you Hashem.

-YOUR THANK YOU TO HASHEM MESSAGE HERE-

  • I have been reading and studying Tehillim in depth, and I thank Hashem for all of the help He has sent my way.  Since asking Hashem for help with my learning, I have found many wonderful websites and online shiurim that go into depth on Tehillim.  I also ordered an interlinear book of Tehillim that is amazing.  I carry it with me everywhere.  Thank You Hashem for always putting what I need in my path.  Thank You also for eyes to see the words, ears to hear the shiurim, and a mind and spirit to learn and feel the messages of Tehllim.  I love You Hashem.
  • Hodu la H-shem ki leolam Hasdo.  B”H my son had his first baby, my grandson and everybody is healthy. B’H the brit is going to be this week,(Rosh Chodesh-Wednesday) and I”H I’m going to be the Sandak.  H-shem showers us with kindnesses constantly and we should always be able to see them blatanty and tell Him thank you.
  • I was reminded of this old story this past week and thought it would nice to thank Hashem for his Hashgachat Pratit. Several years back our area had a major snow storm and everything was basically snowed in. There was about 3 feet of snow on the ground. My cousin was getting married that night and it was a great simcha for our family even though we had no idea if and how any of us would get there. (The wedding itself is a whole other story that has been written up in jewish magazines). I believe 2 or 3 other weddings that night were forced to be done in their houses. Anyway, approximately 2 or 3 pm this snowy stormy day of the wedding my cousin very matter of factly calls me and calmly asks if I have a shirt for him that he can wear to his wedding. I was like what did you say? and he calmly repeats his request. Now it was my turn to be the older mature cousin and give him a lecture. I tell him you wait until the afternoon of your wedding day to try and find a shirt for your wedding?!?!? Are you for real? never mind the craziness of this storm-as I am lecturing him I am staring out the window at the snow storm, in the middle of my speech I see a car service trudging some how thru the snow. I quickly say I gotta go!! and hang up- I see the phone number on the door of the car and I quickly call the car service and rushingly tell him please stop the car on Avenue…right away- I tell him please I have a shirt can he just drive it around the corner? He puts me on hold, comes back and says run down to the car right now he is waiting. Hashem has a plan and takes care of everything and my cousin showed me there is never a reason to panic. Just relax and don’t worry and everything falls into place. His attitude that he lives with is a Kidush Hashem.-Happy Anniversary
  • thank you Hashem, I bought a salad and I usually get big pieces of broccoli and this time they gave me small pieces and my jaws-tmj were hurting badly today and I wouldn’t have been able to bite the big pieces.
  • This may not seem like a big deal but to me it felt like a hug from Hashem. I’ve been trying to find a very warm winter coat for a while now but anything I liked was out of my budget. Today my mother in law came in from Brooklyn for my daughter’s play and says “honey I brought you a coat” I said oh Moshe told you I was looking for one? And she said no! It is so so warm and elegant! And best of all it was free! Thank you Hashem!
  • Thank you Hashem for always helping me out and for bringing my yeshuah!! I was going through a rough time and Hashem showed me how it’s all okay and how I’ll be fine!
  • I have another simcha to add.  My husband and I started a new business last year, and I do the accounting.  Well, I don’t really know what I am doing and am learning as I go.  I received an email from the Department of Revenue to contact them right away.  My first instinct was to ignore the email out of pure fright.  Instead, I closed my eyes, asked Hashem for help, and had complete Bitachon that He would find a solution.  I called them back, and it was just a general question and nothing, thank G-d, serious. Thank you Hashem for showing me yet again that good things come when I put complete trust in You.
  • Thank you Hashem for the amazing trip to Cleveland for a family wedding. We had some crazy weather on the way there and b”h made it after a really long driving. Thank you for getting us there and back safely.
  • I have a new appreciation for my microwave. The spring that latches the door closed broke & my family got a gentle reminder from Hashem how useful this appliance is & how often we use it. Thank You Hashem for the microwave & all the other appliances in the house!

Thank You Hashem – Week 167

  • Thank you HASHEM for the great gift that you have given to us, the Magnificent HATZALAH. During YOM TOV  of SUCCOT,they gave me a possible life saving treatment in the ambulance that led to my speedy recovery. They are my heroes.

I LOVE YOU HASHEM

  • Thank you Hashem for the kedusha in my beautiful sukkah.
  • Thank you Hashem for a beautiful healthy and happy succot together with family and loved ones.
  • Thank you Hashem for saving me from what could have been a disastrous and very costly mistake in work. Right after I saw the error, and saw what huge consequences it could have had, I immediately said a perek tehillim and prayed to Hashem that it should all work out ok. I said, Ein Od Melevado, I know Hashem that everything is from you and whatever happens is all for the best I’m not going to panic or get nervous. Shortly thereafter BH it was all resolved very easily with no issues. I resolved right after that to send in my Thank you Hashem right after.
  • Thank you Hashem for watching out for me and my family and having us not eaten from that cheese that they just found out was not kosher. I had bought it awhile ago, and sliced it and after what we thought was a mistake with using a wrong knife, I told my family I’m not sure what the status is of that knife that it was sliced with- or with the cheese now that we used that knife (which I thought might have been a meat knife that I haven’t used in years). Let’s not eat it. I also took another look at it and said, I don’t like the way it looks either- I’m throwing it away. BH, Thank you for not letting us have eaten from it.
  • Thank you Hashem for a son in-law who wants sefarim for his birthday
  • Thank you Hashem for the safe returning of 4 sifrei Torah to the Ave O synagogue
  • Thank you Hashem for all of our blessings we receive daily.
  • Thank you Hashem for Alan Tobias. I just received a picture of the most beautiful wedding in Israel. It is a person I know that was struggling a lot with religion and struggling in getting back on the right derech. What we would sadly call a lost soul. With the patience and personal example of Alan this boy has turned his life around. He has moved to Israel and has gotten married today in Sefat. Tears rolling down my face as I stare at these pictures and videos sent by Alan. A miracle if you ask me. All due to the way Alan in his own simple way made him part of his life and lead by example. Kidush Hashem. How he invited him into his home for Shabbat and made him feel important. We all need to learn from this and to remember never give up on anyone. And extra Hazuk Ubaruch to Alan for making the trip to Israel to be with him and celebrate his wedding. Mazal tov to the happy couple.
  • Thank you Hashem for allowing me the zechut to inspire people in my sucah.
  • Baby boy- mabrook.
  • My friends son has become a chattan. Mazel tov u bracha
  • My friend had a new baby boy- thank you Hashem!
  • 2 engagements on the same day – thank you Hashem.
  • My son called me on the phone and asked if I am at work and by my computer. I said yes. He says can you do me the biggest favor?  I was like yesss , here we go, what item does he want me to look up and buy for him.  He asks if I can go to the shas-a-thon website and tell him if his masechet is available for him to learn at the shas-a-thon. Thank you Hashem for my wonderful son.
  • Thank you Hashem for a great friends wedding tonight.
  • I attended a very inspiring siyum and want to Thank Hashem for sending me these moments of inspiration.
  • Thank you Hashem for a spectacular morning on the beach.
  • There was a car speeding down a one way street trying to make the light. I noticed it because he almost hit me as I was preparing to cross the street. He flew across the 2 way street and a man with a kippah on his head was calmly crossing and turning towards his parked car. He was strolling care free talking on his cel phone but he was about to get hit by a fast moving car. I quickly said Hashem yishmarecha! and somehow the car stopped right before hitting him. Thank you Hashem. Also see Hashems hashgacha how every person sees what is necessary for him to see. This man actually has no idea what so ever how close he came to being hit by this car, he had his back to the car at the time the car was approaching and never even saw what transpired behind him. I on the other hand HAD to see this, maybe in order to send a quick tefilla to Hashem? Who knows? Everything according to the perfect cheshbon.
  • In viewing how corrupt the world is as we watch the election. We are reminded how Hashem and the Torah are the only real true emet in this world. Thank you Hashem for the reminder.
  • Thank you Hashem for the gift of life and giving us a chance every day to become better Bh
  • Thank you Hashem for holding our hand each day and for never letting us fall. Thank you for helping a family member find a part time job just at the right time when the extra money is truly needed.

  • I was eating lunch at the pizza store and an old friend that I have not seen in a long long time surprises me by landing in the empty seat on my table. I was so happy to see him and we had a great talk. At the end I told him we should be in touch and meet for lunch. He answered, look how great Hashem is, he put us together here for lunch without us even planning it. Hashem planned it for us.Thank you Hashem.
  • Thank you Hashem that it is you who run our country and the world and not these 2 immature candidates running for president. Ein Od Milvado.

  • Today there was a collector in shul that I was prepared to hand a dollar to. After hearing his sad story I handed him 10 dollars. I get to work and call Amazon for a question on my account. After the rep explained it all to me he says for the misunderstanding he is going to refund my credit card $100. 10 times the amount I just gave was gifted to me. Thank you Hashem.
  • Thank you Hashem for helping us all the time. We bumped a car this week and got out to survey the damage. B’h there was none and the people just waved us on. Thank you Hashem for protecting us from a serious accident and money loss.
  • I watched a fourth grade class while they were eating snack. One boy called out I am hungry I have no snack. Within seconds every other boy filled his desk with snack.
  • I attended a wedding with a couple of friends in order to do the misvah and chesed of making the bride and groom happy. We got to experience wonderful achdut. We met several people there and got to talking. We were so impressed with what looked like simple people, but they were doing such wonderful acts of chesed with their lives. The chattan was beaming with joy throughout the night. 3 days later I am walking to my car and I see someone walking out of the cleaners. He looks very familiar. I catch up to him to get a closer look and I say to him, are you a chattan, did you have a wedding this week?. He smiles bright and says yes and thank you so much for making it such  a happy night. He starts hugging me and we get to talking. He is a great guy and I invite him and his wife over for a shabbat meal. He says this week he has shabbat sheva berachot (I named the house he was going to and he smiled, we met the man at the wedding, one of the cheseds we witnessed was this man opening his home for shabbat sheva berachot for this couple 1 day before the holiday, mi ki amecha yisrael..)..I took his number and Bh will have them over for shabbat. Thank you Hashem for following up the wedding with the oppurtunity to meet the chattan, such a special nice person. Mabruk to him and his kallah.
  • Had a few different issues going on at the same time at work. Thank you Hashem for making them all fall into place so easily.
  • Thank you Hashem for the most wonderful year of life you granted me. I pray and hope to be zoche to another great year of life along with all of our beautiful people. May we merit greeting and celebrating the arrival of Mashiach quickly.
  • I took a very hard fall while playing ball. While on the ground I was unsure how injured I was. All sorts of ideas ran thru my mind. I was dazed. Baruch Hashem I slowly got up and within a few minutes got my bearings together and all is fine. Thank you Hashem.

By Rabbi David Ashaer

If a person doesn’t get what he wants, it is not because Hashem doesn’t love you. It is because He knows that right now, this is what’s best for you. Hashem knows the future. He knows what we need to accomplish and how we will be able to accomplish it, and He acts accordingly. We have to train ourselves to always think, גם זו לטובה – This too is for the best. Even what appears to be the most difficult situation is actually Hashem’s loving kindness acting for our benefit.

A man told me that his wedding date was January 7, 1996. The guest list was short, as he was marrying an orphan, and both he and his bride had very small families. To make matters worse, that day, New York was hit with one of the worst blizzards ever. By the time the wedding was set to start, a foot and a half of snow had fallen, and it was still coming down. Nobody could drive, and it looked like the wedding would be a disaster. One of the local rabbis called all the neighbors, telling them that it is a Mitzva to come immediately to this wedding. He even invited the local Yeshiva. It turned out to be one of the liveliest, most festive weddings, with hundreds of boys dancing. People were so inspired that they became religious just from being there. It was a wedding that no one would ever forget.

Fourteen years later, the groom’s older sister was finally getting married. It was her first marriage and her groom’s second. Again, the families were not large, but whoever was coming was very excited. This wedding was set to take place on a hot August night in a Shul in Deal, New Jersey. Everyone recalled the eventful wedding of ’96, but they knew that would not happen now-or would it? As Hashgacha would have it, right after the ceremony, the police entered the Shul, which was located in a quiet neighborhood, and evacuated the entire building because of a bomb scare. This was unheard of. There had never been a bomb scare in that area before, and there hasn’t been one since.

The entire wedding party left the building and was standing in the parking lot. The doors of the Shul were locked, with the police guarding the building. All the food and music were left inside. Time passed, the guests were waiting outside sweating, but they were not being allowed back in. People began to leave.

One of the bride’s friends came and saw what was happening and quickly went into action. She knew of someone with a garage full of water bottles. She asked to bring them to the wedding and distribute them to the guests. Then, she asked the neighbor if she could use their backyard to dance. The neighbor was happy to help. All of the sudden, chairs and tables were being set up. A local DJ arrived with his equipment, free of charge. The backyard became a reception area. The woman then called someone who had just made a large barbeque for an organization and asked if she could bring the leftovers. The hot food arrived. Hundreds of young ladies were asked to come and dance with the bride. Yeshiva boys were called to dance with the groom. Within half an hour, it was the liveliest scene anyone could have imagined.

Finally, at 11:30 pm the Shul was reopened, and the reception moved inside. At that moment, none other than Yaakov Shwekey walked in to sing. Someone had called him to do a Chesed and save the wedding. The crowd became charged. They danced until 2AM. It turned out to be the most memorable wedding. The bride said afterward that she had always wanted Yaakov Shwekey to sing at her wedding but couldn’t afford it. Now she got what she wanted-and much more.

גם זו לטובה – Everything always works out for the best. Sometimes we see how, but most times, we don’t. Yet, we can rest assured that Hashem is always doing the best for us.

Thank You Hashem – Week 7

BSD Though I have enough reasons not to take time now to write, but the worthiness of being Makir Tovah to HKBH outweighs all my reasons not to. BeChasdei Hashem I made a wedding this week for my youngest daughter. The Simcha is indescribable. But one factor is on my mind specifically. In the past I used to dance the entire wedding both the first dance and the second almost all the time in the center with each of my friends. This time even before my daughter became a Kallah I was worried “How will I be able to dance? I get winded just walking to Shul on Shabbos! I’M so out of shape for lack of exercise that my Doctor wrote me a “prescription” on his pad to walk every day etc. I’m going to disappoint everyone!’ A few days before the Chasunah I “happened” to see a Malbim on the posuk in Shmuel  שמואל א פרק יז when Dovid was trying to convince Shoul that he could take on Golyos and vanquish him”שמואל א פרק יז

And I used to think the pshat is that Dovid said that he was quite a mighty warrior and Shoul could entrust him to eliminate Golyos.

But the Malbim writes,

Meaning That Dovid said “Did I have the power to kill a lion, did I have the power to kill a bear – certainly not!!- so it was certainly HASHEM’S help that enabled me in the past, so too now Hashem will help supernaturally to kill Golyos”

So I said to myself did I have the energy in the past to dance a whole Chasunah CERTAINLY NOT! And by the next one! And the next one! So HASHEM helped me dance so too will he help me now!

PS Oh did I dance! As never before!

Simchos for all of you! And all Klal Yisroel Ksiva veChasimah Tovah

  •  Thank you Hashem for being our father, we are like your only child, holding our hand and guiding us, even in hard times, a father is always there for his child, no matter what, you love us like a father and a son. After my father a”h passed away, I didn’t understand why Hashem created the emotions of a father and son, I knew everything Hashem does is for a purpose, Hashem had finally opened my eyes – you know why, because that is the connection of Hashem and us, we are his children and Hashem is our father he loves us – Keracham av al banim ken terchem Hashem Alenu – Hashem have mercy on your children just like a father has mercy on his son. Thank you Hashem

  • Had zechut to pray by Rabbi Bitton in Lakewood this summer and had zechut to witness many Kiddush Hashem’s- Last week Rabbi Bitton was running a 3 day learning program (yarchei kalla) for people from the Persian community (they come to Lakewood and have a program for few days together, very inspiring to see and hope to do one this winter for some Brooklyn guys) After tefilla we got to see the excitement they had for Torah and for the special town of Lakewood, One man came in and told Rabbi Bitton that shadchanim want his daughter to marry a talmid chacham that she is great girl and should marry a talmid chacham, the man did not want to hear of it and said no thanks-a day into the program the man came to Rabbi Bitton and told him after what he is seeing here ,the torah life in action, he is calling the Shadchan to say he ONLY wants a talmid chacham! Rabbi Bitton said it was worth it to do the program just to hear those words. Ps- was also great seeing about 60 men of all ages from Panama this Monday doing the same program-Thank you Hashem for letting me see your children’s love for Torah…

  • was in my office having conversation with someone about Hashem , they said that they believe in Hashem but do not believe that Hashem is involved with every little minor thing in the world, they said I believe Hashem is involved in wars and big things like that but I do not believe Hashem cares whether or not I can lift my finger like this or not…sorry I just do not buy it, the big stuff fine but if I can lift my fingers is not on Hashem’s list of things to do..fine- not more than 3 hours later this person calls me up all excited-they tell me you are not going to believe this, I cut myself and had to come to the emergency room- I am sitting right now in the cubicle they put me in here at the emergency room, and they come to the guy in next cubicle and ask him what’s the matter? And he says- “I am trying to move my fingers and I can not, they do not move no matter how much I try”…this person saw clearly the greatness of Hashem-wow!
  •  2 Las Vegas stories 1- arrived in Las Vegas late Thurs night for a show. Set up Friday morning. After set up 3:00 my friend and I decided to go to super market to get food for Shabbat. Grabbed a cab and asked to take us to closest market and wait. He said he cannot wait since he has to return his cab at 3:30. He gave us a card with a number to call for cab. Pulled into a Vons but we said is there an Albertsons around here( since we are familiar with Albertsons). Pulled out and went another mile to Albertsons. Finished shopping at 4:15. Called number for cab over an hour wait! Shabbat mincha at 7:00. Right behind us 2 guys on our plane? Are you guys going to Venetian can we have a ride?  Sure. In car they told us they were going to Target but decided last minute to shop At Albertsons. Didn’t even have to wait a minute for ride back. Hashem is Great. Thank you Hashem. Story 2- saw my cousin at the end of show and she said she had the best show ever!! She told me that her biggest show is in September this year on Rosh Hashanah and she canceled. Now she has goyim that she could send to work it but out right cancelled. She told me that Hashem gave her all that business at this show.  Hashem is Great!
